Prejudged Blessing

If you judge me
Based on the color of my skin
Where I was born
Or the town I live in
If you refuse to hear me
Because I happen to stutter
Or I don't happen to enunciate
Every syllable I utter
If you're blind to the vision
I endeavor to share
Because you can't stand
The style of clothes that I wear
If you're afraid to be seen with me
Out of embarrassment and shame
Fearing the thought of being associated
When someone calls my name
You cut off a blessing
You might otherwise receive
Because it didn't come
As you thought or perceived
Offended by the vessel
God chose to use
You, out of prejudice
Have blindly refused
But there are those who've rejected
One much greater than I
Whose envy, rage and hatred
Hung Him on a cross to die
